Synopsis: After golden boy Ezra Faulkner has a life changing accident he’s not quite sure where he belongs. He’s gone from popular jock to brooding outcast. And the weird thing is, he doesn’t really miss his old crowd. He’s not quite sure what to do, until he meets Cassidy.
I really, really liked this book, until it ended. The whole story was great and very John Green-ish with the romance and the talk of tragedy and the off beat nerdy characters. I loved everything about it until the author went and screwed up the ending. It’s like “okay I’m in love with you but you pushed me away for a stupid reason. I guess I’ll just never talk to you again. Let’s have a five page depressing monologue because I can”. I think it was one of the stupidest endings to a book I’ve ever come across. Another thing that bothered me was that throughout the whole book the author makes it seem like Cassidy has some giant terrible secret when really it was just that her brother had died. I understand that she’s really sad about it but why is that something that she felt the need to keep a secret? Like you can’t tell your boyfriend your brother died? I just didn’t understand it. You can read this book for its great story, but you will be disappointed by the ending.
